'It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that things are difficult'

I'm Matthew. For as long as I can remember, I've been inspired by politics. I've always held a firm belief in my own opinions and I've always had excessive levels of self-confidence; sometimes to my dis-service. I believe that politics is essential to how each and every one of us functions and goes about our daily lives. I might also mention that I'm 14.

I live in what is admittedly a very traditional working class household. But I'm working to make it to the top. My detailed experiences of childhood and growing up poor fuel my political ambitions and sense. I have a passion for ensuring that everyone has an equal start in life, and this is central to my way of thinking.

Never have I shied away from talking about and discussing the toughest issues, and these are what I wish to discuss in this blog. I hope you'll follow my journey from the bottom to the top, and watch me meet my ultimate ambition. Fuelled by an admittedly cliche quote from my favourite ancient philosopher Seneca; 'It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult', I plan to fulfil every dream I ever wanted to, with the steadfast belief that I am capable of doing so.

I've passions for English, history, philosophy, sociology, theology and more, in addition to my everlasting love of politics.
